BIO [Momoko Seto]

Momoko Seto was born in 1980 in Tokyo, Japan. After studying at the Lycée Français of Tokyo, she attended the Fine Arts College of Marseille and Le Fresnoy National Studio of Contemporary Arts in France.
She began making short fiction films and documentary films for the CNRS (National Centre of Scientific Research). She then started creating hybrid mix-genre films by transforming everyday life elements into a poetic and singular universe, for example the experimental animations “PLANET A” and “PLANET Z” and seafood porn videos. Her films have been selected and shown at numerous international film festivals and artistic events, some of which have received international prizes.

Momoko Seto est née en 1980 à Tokyo, Japon. Après avoir été scolarisée au Lycée français de Tokyo, elle vient en France suivre les études d'Art à l'École supérieure des beaux-arts de Marseille, puis au Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains.
Elle commence par réaliser des court-métrages et des documentaires pour le CNRS (Réseau Asie). Elle réalise également des films hybrides, mélangeant différents genres, et transforme les éléments du quotidien à un univers poétique et singulier, comme par exemple ses animations expérimentales, "PLANET A" et "PLANET Z" ou ses vidéos "porno fruits de mer".
Momoko Seto a réalisé de nombreux courts-métrages et documentaires qui ont été présentés et récompensés dans plusieurs festivals internationaux.

瀬戸桃子
1980年東京生まれ。
フランス人学校リセ・フランコ・ジャポネ東京校卒業後、マルセイユの国立美術大学・映像科の修士課程修了。在学中にカリフォルニア・カレッジ・オブ・アーツへ留学。その後フレノア国立アートスタジオ在学中の2008年に短編作品『PLANET A』発表。ロッテルダム映画祭、ロカルノ映画祭等で上映され、注目を集める。同時にパリの国立科学研究所所属のドキュメンタリー映画監督として多数の作品を発表しながら、2011年『PLANET Z』発表。同作は2012年のパリ・ファンタスティック映画祭グランプリはじめ、ベルリン映画祭短編部門の正式出品作品に選ばれるなど、世界の100以上の映画祭で受賞や上映される。現在タイムラップス技法を用いた作品で世界の注目を浴びる映像アーチストであり、ドキュメンタリー映像作家である。
